Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ:SYMC) climbed 6.10% to $16.69 after it reports Q2 EPS of $0.36, cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.33. Revenue for the quarter was $1.47 billion, which compares to the estimate of $1.43 billion. Symantec sees Q3 EPS of $0.36-$0.37, versus the consensus of $0.37 and sales of $1.48-$1.51 billion, versus the consensus of $1.5 billion.

International Coal Group, Inc. (NYSE:ICO) surged 2.42% to $4.23 after it reports Q3 EPS of $0.12, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.04. Revenue for the quarter was $296.6 million, which compares to the estimate of $293.05 million.

Lincoln National Corporation (NYSE:LNC) climbed 8.76% to $24.20 after it said on Wednesday that its third-quarter profit rose to $153.3 million, or 44 cents a share, from $148.4 million, or 58 cents a share a year ago. Revenue slipped to $2.08 billion from $2.27 billion.

XL Capital Ltd. (NYSE:XL) climbed 4.74% to $17.00 in post market hours after it said on late Wednesday that its third-quarter loss lessened to $11.4 million, or 3 cents a share, from a loss of $1.65 billion, or $6.04 a share a year ago. Total revenue slipped to $1.49 billion, from $1.74 billion last year.
