Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) dropped 4.63% and the last traded price was $3.09 on over 140.51 million shares. The stock hit an intraday high and intraday low of $3.37 and $2.97 respectively. So far the stock price declined over 27% in last six months. Sprint Nextel Corporation is a holding company that offers a range of wireless and wire line communications products and services for individual consumers, businesses and government customers.

 

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CDNS) slipped $0.68 or 9.67% to close at $6.35 on a volume of over 15.10 million shares after Cadence reported yesterday its third quarter 2009 revenue of $216 million, compared to revenue of $232 million reported for the same period in 2008. On a GAAP basis, Cadence recognized a net loss of $14 million, or $(0.05) per share on a diluted basis, in the third quarter of 2009, compared to a net loss of $171 million, or $(0.67) per share on a diluted basis in the same period in 2008.

 

First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) was also the active loser in today’s trading session and fell 16.57% to end the day at  $126.47 on unusual volume of over 12.48 million shares after the company yesterday announced its financial results for the third quarter ended September 26, 2009. Quarterly revenues were $480.9 million and excluded the Sarnia project, which was over 65% completed at quarter end. Revenues were $525.9 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2009 and $348.7 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2008.
