HLIT, TRID, VM were Today’s Biggest Losing Technology Stocks

Dallas, TX - Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ:HLIT) was among the active losers in today`s trading session as it plunged over 10.27% to close at $5.33 on huge volume of over 2.73 million shares after the company posted lower-than-expected results and guided weak fourth-quarter revenue. Trident Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TRID) plunged $0.05 or 2.48% to close at $12.90 on a volume of over 2 million shares. The stock hit an intraday high and intraday low of $2.09 and $1.88 respectively. So far the stock price jumped over 47% in last six months. Trident Microsystems, Inc. designs, develops and markets integrated circuits for digital media applications, such as digital television and liquid crystal display.
Virgin Mobile USA, Inc. (NYSE:VM) was also the active loser in today’s trading session and fell 4.58% to end the day at $4.17 on volumes of over 1.63 million shares. The stock hit an intraday high and intraday low $4.52 and $4.03 respectively. So far the stock price jumped up over 117% in last six months. Virgin Mobile USA, Inc. is a provider of wireless communications services, offering prepaid services and postpaid services targeted at the youth market. The Company’s voice and data plans allow its customers to talk, use text messaging, picture messaging, e-mail and instant messaging on a per usage basis or according to the terms of its monthly hybrid plans.
