Lens Technology International Announces New Glass Coatings To Their Industrial Coating Product Line

Lens Technology International Is Continually Improving Their Industrial Products For Manufacturing Glass, Plastic and Metal Coatings

According to John Quinn, President of Lens Technology International, the new coatings offer customers a much sought after cost-effective solution.

"These long awaited money-saving glass coatings," said Quinn, "are welcome news to industrial companies and business operators who manufacture a wide variety of products.

"Besides, these coatings and finishing solutions represent real money and time savings for manufacturers," added the Lens Technology International spokesman. As a leader in the development and manufacture of high performance, Lens Technology International is known worldwide for it scratch resistant coatings that are used in a variety of applications, such as for those in the automotive and aerospace industries.

The company also offers a full range of proprietary UV curable and thermal curable coatings for application to a variety of substrates including plastics, glass, metal, and wood. As a leader in premium scratch resistant coatings, LTI is also known for their complete offering of a line of clear coatings for use on ophthalmic lenses and other optical applications. According to Quinn, the company is a specialist manufacture of tintable and non tintable coatings for a variety of plastic substrates (polycarbonate, cast resins, acrylic, Trivex).

"These coatings are specially formulated to provide an excellent base for thin film metal oxide coatings (anti-reflective / mirror), the combination of which offers the ultimate in optical quality," said Quinn. Concerning coatings for decorative glass applications, Quinn noted their manufacture of transparent / translucent colored finishings are water based UV curable systems that eliminate the health and safety concerns and environmental concerns associated with volatile organic compounds / hazardous air pollutants (VOCs / HAPs) inherent in solvent systems.

In addition, the spokesman points to the fact that UV technology offers faster processing times and space and energy savings compared to thermal cure technologies. "Adding a transparent/translucent color coating can add beauty and luster to glass products including mugs and awards," said Quinn, who adds colored coatings are an excellent way to reflect the color of one's company logo and provides an ideal background for etching or engraving.

In a final note Quinn adds that with traditional metal finishing technology, which is based on epoxy or urethane based thermal cure coatings, there were certain disadvantages (such as large space and high energy requirements,  and large amounts of hazardous VOCs -volatile organic compounds - that makes LTI’s alternative offering of UV Cure technology a better choice.

"LTI’s alternative offering of UV Cure technology utilizes 100 per cent solids coatings with no VOCs, reduced footprint, reduced energy consumption, and faster cycle time," said Quinn, who offers customers a cost effective and time efficient solution by working with them to coat metals reducing their overall costs and increasing the life, quality, and value of their products. Coating can be added to any metal finish.
