The work was published in the June 2013 edition of the Journal of Microbiological Methods in a paper entitled, “Rapid O serogroup identification of the six clinically relevant Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli by antibody microarray”.
Researchers at the Pennsylvania State University and USDA report a rapid and highly sensitive test to detect the top six most toxic serogroups of Escherichia coli (E. coli), which is a group of pathogenic bacteria that cause serious illness and even death in some cases. The new E. coli test developed using Arrayit’s technology will be used to screen meat, vegetables, and poultry to improve food safety and public health.
