Listonstreetpulse.com announces that researchers at the National Taiwan University Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan, and The High Throughput Biology Center at John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, have leveraged Arrayit Corporation’s (OTC: ARYC) patented and proprietary Arrayit Microarray Platform to advance the basic understanding of the aging and longevity pathways.
The researchers used ARYC’s patented LM210 NanoPrint™ Protein Edition Microarrayer and Plate Stacker to manufacture yeast proteome microarrays containing all of the proteins expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is a model organism that shares many of the same genes and proteins expressed in humans. The groundbreaking scientific work was published in 2013 edition of Methods in Enzymology and entitled “Using Functional Proteome Microarrays to Study Protein Lysine Acetylation”. Scientists at John Hopkins bought ARYC’s technology for $243,000. The researchers said, “We further prove that the reversible acetylation on critical cell metabolism-related enzymes controls life span in a yeast,” a scientific discovery that may eventually enable doctors to slow aging and extend lifespan in human beings.
