Athersys, Inc. ATHX Up 32 Percent in Pre-Market on Stem Cell Patent
Athersys, Inc. ATHX announced it received a US patent covering non-embryonic multipotent stem cells. Apparently the market took notice as shares were up 32 percent in pre-market trading. The company also announced an additional patent covering non-embryonic pluripotent stem cells.
These patents stated the company covers the technology used to treat multiple diseases and indications which include heart attack and inflammatory bowel disease.
Shares are trading 3.64 Up 0.76 (26.39%) as this is written.
