nCoat Subsidiary HPC's Fluoropolymer Coatings Provide Unmatched Performance on Diesel Engine Pistons
Monday July 30, 4:30 pm ET
WHITSETT, NC--Jul 30, 2007 -- nCoat, Inc. (OTC BB:NCOA.OB - News) ("nCoat" or the "Company") has announced through its operating subsidiary, High Performance Coatings (HPC), a new customer relationship with SoCal Diesel (http://www.socaldiesel.com), located in Valencia, California, which specializes in Duramax diesel performance components. HPC applies heat and corrosion management and friction reduction coatings to internal diesel engine components.
HPC coats the skirts of SoCal Diesel pistons with improved "S Series" fluoropolymer dry film coating containing PTFE additives. Using HPC's lubritic coatings, SoCal Diesel has seen reduction in metal to metal surface friction thereby reducing wear on the piston, and helping seat the piston during the break in period on the engine. HPC also coats the combustion sides of the diesel engine pistons with "H Series" heat management coatings which distributes combustion cycle heat evenly across the entire crown of the piston. This reduces any hot spots and thermal oxidation effecting piston top surfaces. H series is an inorganic ceramic metallic coating that also provides excellent thermal shock characteristics when tested at > 1000F to 65F in water quench tests.
"HPC has deep and extensive market presence in solving diesel engine operating and performance challenges for both performance aftermarket and OEM market segments," said Paul Clayson, CEO nCoat, Inc., parent company of HPC. "SoCal Diesel is one of the true innovators in diesel engine performance components. Integrating HPC products as a true innovator of performance coatings creates a powerful combination."
In June of 2006, Guy Tripp launched "Advanced Motorsports Technology" and its subsidiary "SoCal Diesel." Prior to founding SoCal Diesel, Tripp and his team had already developed, manufactured, and released their LS-1 Gen 3 aluminum cylinder head line to the gasoline engine market. These were the first aftermarket aluminum cylinder heads for the Gen 3 engine, they were emission legal, and they featured many innovative qualities. The cylinder heads quickly became the "must have" item as a solution for any serious LS-1 build up. Among Tripp's many innovations was a fully robotic manufacturing process. SoCal Diesel was also the first to release CNC ported Duramax cylinder heads to the market. SoCal Diesel has worked very closely with the EFILive team in New Zealand to make Duramax engine tuning software available to the general public.
HPC's innovative coatings technologies, including many nano-technology applications, provide a high gloss performance finish that maintains luster under high heat conditions. HPC's engineering and research and development departments provide cutting edge coatings that can perform at the increasing demands of today's environments.
