Tropical Storm Karen Poses Little Threat

Tuesday morning marked the twelfth named storm of the season as Tropical Storm Karen developed in the Atlantic Ocean but is not expected to pose any type of threat to the Caribbean.

 

Currently moving at 16 mph in a west-northwest direction Tropical Storm Karen was roughly 1,500 miles east of the Lesser Antilles at 5:00 a.m. ET. Karen has sustained winds of 40 mph.

 

The storm is expected to stay out in the Atlantic until at least Sunday and its current movement poses no threat to land.
