The California wildfires in both San Diego and Los Angeles County have caused acres of land to burn and several families, including celebrities, to evacuate.
The state of California is going through a severe drought and the Santa Ana winds have carried the wildfires through each region.
The Ranch fire has burn 29,000 acres of land near the Angeles National Forest. The fire has not been contained at all and is located six miles north of Castaic. Possible evacuations are in the Hasley Canyon, Oak Springs, Val Verde and Piru areas.
In Los Angeles County, the Buckweed fire has destroyed 20,000 acres and is threatening the communities of Agua Dulce, Santa Clarita, Green Valley, Castaic, Leona Valley, Acton, and Mint Canyon.
The Grass Valley fire in Lake Arrowhead has taken 2,000 acres and 40-50 homes have been seen burning.
In Malibu, Titanic director James Cameron and Olivia Newton John have reportedly been evacuated, and the houses of Barbra Streisand and Mel Gibson are possibly under threat. The house of DreamWorks founder Jeffrey Katzenburg has been foamed, while he is in Chicago for a business trip.
Gusts of up to 80 miles per hour spread the flames which have claimed one life, left four firefighters injured and destroyed 1,250 acres of land, a church and several houses. The Kashan Castle, a landmark in Malibu, has been destroyed due to the flames.
Thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate including celebrities Sting, Jennifer Aniston, Pierce Brosnan, Robert Redford, Cher, Richard Gere, Martin Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg.
In San Diego County, the Harris fire has taken 14,000 acres. 5% of the fire has been contained, but the strong winds have halted the efforts of firefighters.
Also in that county, the Witch fire has claimed 10,000 acres, six miles east of Ramona.
