Earthquake Hits Near Samoa Island

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck near the Samoa Islands around 1:20 p.m. ET. The epicenter was located about 150 miles from the American Samoa city of Pago Pago.

There were no immediate reports of damages, injuries or deaths. No other details were available. Two earthquakes have hit Samoa in the past year.
