Mexico Earthquake Leaves Little Damage

A powerful earthquake struck southern Mexico today around 6:50 am but left little damage. No injuries or deaths have been reported.

When the 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook Mexico residents fled their homes and stayed in the streets. “It was horrible. It really scared me,” said Cecilia Gomez, a resident of Tuxtla Gutierrez.

 

The epicenter of the earthquake was 70 miles southwest of Tuxtla Gutierrez. The tremor was felt in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Tabasco and Puebla.
