A tornado ripped through Prattville, Alabama over the weekend leaving a path of destruction that leveled homes and buildings and left trees and power lines downed across the area.
At least 200 homes were destroyed or damaged left at least 30 people injured and led to rescue workers going door-to-door to search for residents who may be trapped inside their houses.
Shelters have been set up to provide temporary relief for those who lost nearly everything from the storms that dumped massive amounts of rain and caused severe flooding.
The weekend's storms follow an already destructive month in the south that has seen tornados responsible for at least 50 deaths in the region.
