Ground Zero Blueprints Found in Trash

The Freedom Tower plans for ground zero were brought to the New York Post by a homeless man who claims to have found them in a Lower Manhattan trash can.  The 150 page document was marked “Secure Document – Confidential.”

The schematic was dated October 5, 2007 and contained plans for each floor, including the thickness of the concrete core wall and the location of air ducts, elevators, electrical systems and support columns.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the owner of the World Trade Center site, is calling the event a “serious security lapse.”

Candace McAdams, spokeswoman, has commented on the situation stating that mishandling the blueprints would be “cause for serious disciplinary action.”
