At Least 23 Dead as Tornadoes Rip Through Central U.S.

At least 23 people were killed and several more left injured after tornadoes and severe storms swept across the central U.S. and into the south on Saturday.

 

The storms started in Oklahoma and leveled the town of Picher where seven people were killed and 150 were injured as a tornado destroyed homes and buildings while knocking down power lines and overturning cars.

 

Moving east, more tornadoes hit the southwest corner of Missouri and killed an additional 14 people in Seneca, about 20 miles from Picher.

 

The deadly storms moved south into Sunday and killed another two people in Dublin, Georgia.
