We would like to highlight Mikros Systems Corp. (OTCBB: MKRS). The company is an advanced technology company specializing in the research and development of electronic systems technology primarily for military applications. Classified by the U.S. Department of Defense as a small business, its capabilities include technology management, electronic systems engineering and integration, radar systems engineering, combat/command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems engineering, and communications engineering. Mikros' primary business is to pursue and obtain contracts from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Navy, and other governmental authorities.

In the Company’s news today,

Mikros Systems Corp. (OTCBB: MKRS) announced it recently secured two new, U.S. Navy contracts to cover follow-up work on the Mikros’ AIRchitect-EMC wireless network design tool, “interference-aware” network design software. The software allows the Navy to optimize shipboard network design and avoid interference with critical radar and communications systems.

“We have worked closely with the Navy’s technical experts in Charleston and San Diego to develop a tool tailored to the unique demands of shipboard operation,” Tom Meaney, president of Mikros stated in the press release. “If these programs are successful, we expect there will be many future opportunities to apply AIRchitect-EMC more broadly as the Navy continues to expand wireless network deployments.”

The first program is a subcontract to the Classified Wireless Networks for Embedded Forces program, a pilot program run by the Navy’s PMW160 Program Office and funded by the Office of Naval Research Rapid Technology Transition program. The AIRchitect-EMC system will be used to proceed with the design for a shipboard network for the USMC Marine Expeditionary Forces and networks that will be implemented on two LHD ships.

The second program is funded directly by the Navy’s PMW750 CVN program office, and spans additional network design studies for the new aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford.
