Tropical Storm Alma hit the coast of Central America Thursday. The storm brought heavy rains and winds near 65 mph to the coast. The heavy rain caused flooding in Managua and landslides in Costa Rica.
Hurricane warnings were issued for Nicaragua and Honduras as the National Hurricane Center in Miami predicted that the tropical storm would strengthen to a hurricane by late Thursday.
Alma is expected to travel to El Salvador and Honduras by early Friday.
