A 6.7 earthquake hit India’s Andaman Islands on Friday. No injuries or deaths have been reported. The Indian Meteorological Department said the earthquake was “moderate.”
The quake struck 75 miles southwest of Andaman capital Port Blair at 5:40 p.m.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said there was a possibility of a “destructive local tsunami in the Indian Ocean.” A tsunami warning has not been issued.
