Oxygen Biotherapeutics (Nasdaq: OXBT) $2.55. Today announced that the Data Safety Monitoring Board overseeing the company's ongoing Phase II-b trial has, based on the results of the first cohort of patients, authorized the company to move forward with the next cohort of the study. This trial is a randomized, single-dose, placebo-controlled, double-blind, dose-escalation study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of our Oxycyte emulsion in patients with severe non-penetrating traumatic brain injury. Due to the double-blind design of the study, specific results will not be reported to the company until the trial closes.

Scholastic Corporation (Nasdaq: SCHL) $25.51. Today announced results for the fiscal 2011 first quarter ended August 31, 2010. Revenue in the fiscal 2011 first quarter was $290.9 million versus $315.6 million in the prior year period.  Net loss per share from continuing operations for the quarter was $0.95, including one-time time expenses of $0.03, compared to a net loss of $0.68 in the prior year period.  Including continuing and discontinued operations, the first quarter net loss per share was $0.98, compared to a net loss of $0.63 in fiscal 2010.  Scholastic typically records a seasonal loss in its fiscal first quarter, when most schools are not in session and its School Book Clubs and Fairs generate minimal revenue.

Approach Resources (Nasdaq: AREX) $11.12. Today announced that it has acquired leasehold interests covering 33,715 gross (22,851 net) acres in Crockett County, Texas, in the Permian Basin. The Company believes the acquired acreage is prospective in the Clearfork and Wolfcamp Shale (or “Wolffork”), Canyon Sands and/or Ellenburger formations.

The acreage acquisitions include 11,285 gross (9,919 net) acres acquired in Crockett County in The University of Texas System’s 118th Lease Sale. The Company’s total acreage position in the Permian Basin now covers 137,495 gross (93,755 net) acres. The number of stated net acres acquired is based on the Company’s expectation of future participation by working interest partners, but will vary depending on final election by the partners.

What They Do: Approach Resources Inc. is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production and acquisition of oil and gas properties in the United States.
