Hurricane Ike Could Hit Florida Keys, Gulf of Mexico

Weather officials say Hurricane Ike is gaining strength and could shift course. Ike may hit the Florida Keys before heading towards the Gulf of Mexico.

“That’s kind of a bad scenario for us, to go into the Gulf,” said the assistant administrator at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The administrator added that Ike’s path is “changing as we talk.”
