US Stock Movers in Opening Session

Safeway Inc. (NYSE:SWY) dropped 1.43% to $22.12. The company reported Thursday that its third-quarter net income dropped to $122.8 million or 33 cents a share, from $128.8 million, or 31 cents a share, in the comparable quarter last year.

Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 31 cents per share on revenue of $9.44 billion.

Isilon Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISLN) lost 2.18% to $27.34 after it created its fresh one-year high of $28.68. This week, the New York Post reported that EMC Corp. is in exclusive talks to acquire the computer-storage company for more than $2 billion.

The Company sells its products directly through its field sales force and indirectly through a channel partner program that includes more than 210 resellers and distributors.

TerreStar Corporation (NASDAQ:TSTR) added 2.47% to $0.154 on about 1.41 million shares. Yesterday, according to The Wall Street Journal Street, the company is preparing a possible filing for bankruptcy protection.

The stock went down more than 84% year-to-date.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is down 1.35% to $15.71. The company is scheduled to release its fiscal third-quarter financial results after the closing bell on Tuesday, October 19, 2010.

Analysts, on average, expect the company to report earnings of 15 cents per share on revenue of $1.13 billion.
