US
Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE:LCC) soared 6.35% to $10.73
after the company said its net income during third-quarter jumped to $240
million, or $1.22 a share, from a loss of $80 million, or 60 cents a share, in
the year-earlier quarter. Excluding special items, the company earned $1.23 a
share.
Revenue climbed 16.9% to $3.18 billion from $2.7
billion.
Analysts were estimating the company to report
earnings of $1.16 per share on revenues of $3.18 billion.
US Airways, Inc. (US Airways) is engaged in the
operation of a network air carrier. The Company provides air transportation for
passengers and cargo. US Airways is a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways

the airline alliance.
Delta
Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) soared 11% to $12.99 on hefty
volume after the company reported solid third-quarter results.
The company said it had $363 million, or 43 cents a
share in earnings, compared to a loss of $161 million, or 19 cents a share, in
the prior-year quarter. The company earned $1.10 a share on an adjusted basis.
Revenue during the quarter rose 18% to $8.95 billion.
Analysts were eyeing the company to report earnings
of 93 cents a share on revenue of $8.82 billion.
Delta Air Lines, Inc. (Delta) provides scheduled air
transportation for passengers and cargo throughout the United States, and
around the world. The Company’s route network is centered on the hub system it
operate at airports in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis/St.
Paul, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam and
Tokyo-Narita.
AMR
Corporation (NYSE:AMR) surged 8.74% to $7.09 and Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE:ALK) gained
5.50% to $49.
