Art Technology Group Inc. announced that popular footwear retailer DSW Inc. (NYSE: DSW) used ATG’s Commerce Suite to power its recently launched online store at DSW.com to drive brand awareness and boost online presence in the growing Internet age.
Before the company constructed its new Website, DSW used its existing site to provide customers with general information about the retailer, as well as a “store locator” option. According to the press release, when DSW realized the need for an upgraded site, it chose ATG’s solution because of its advanced personalization capabilities, easy to use features, and positive reputation as a solid platform.
Jon Ricker, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of DSW, said the new site not only benefits the company, but the consumers as well, and was created partially in response to customers wanting more from its Web site.
“Launching DSW.com as an e-commerce destination for our customers was a very important extension of our brand,” Ricker stated. “It also was an answer to the countless emails and requests we received from time-challenged customers who desired an online DSW alternative as well. When we began this project, we already had an enormous customer base and knew we would see substantial traffic right away. It was imperative that we select an e-commerce partner who had proven themselves capable of handling large sites with extensive inventories, and who could continue to scale and grow with us in the future. We also wanted to ensure that our new site would offer sophisticated product recommendation and promotional features for our merchandising team and our customers. ATG’s Commerce Suite solution proved to be a very solid choice.”
The ATG Commerce Suite offers DSW shoppers an easy outlet to quickly explore the entire DSW catalog and find products they’re interested in through natural language search terms or traditional menu navigation. Footwear options can be narrowed by styles, size, width, color and material. Shoes are shown in high-definition 360-degree views that allow for better purchasing decisions.
