World Leaders Target New Global Free-Trade Agreement to Solve Financial Crisis

World leaders representing the G20 have declared they would attempt to work out a deal that would institute a global free-trade agreement by the end of the year in an attempt to ease the current financial crisis that has gripped the global economy.

According to its supporters, a free-trade agreement would ease the burden placed on many countries that rely almost exclusively on exports to support their economy.

The financial summit, held in Washington, has brought together 19 leaders of the world’s biggest economies as well as the European Union. While there has been division among some concerning market rules all representatives have agreed that a deal must be in place to ensure such a crisis doesn’t repeat itself in the future.

Leaders also agreed to reform financial institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund which have been under a tremendous amount of pressure as countries seek financial help to keep their economies afloat.
