In the company’s news Friday,
Bookham, Inc. announced it was awarded the Excellent Core Partner Award from Huawei. Huawei is a global leader in the manufacturing of telecommunications equipment. Bookham President and CEO, Alain Couder, accepted the award on the company’s behalf at Huawei’s 2008 Core Partner Convention.
Huawei’s management complimented Bookham, stating, “We are pleased to give the 2008 Excellent Core Partner Award to Bookham as they have been a core optical component and module supplier to Huawei for many years. We are very pleased with Bookham product performance, the delivery, the service and the support, and we expect to strengthen the cooperation between the two companies.”
This award is the fourth vendor recognition award received by Bookham from Huawei in the last few years. It shows that Bookham is a reliable, high quality provider in terms of performance, product durability, and customer service.
Asked to comment on the award, President and CEO Alain Couder stated that “[a]s one of the industry’s top vendors, with global sales to the world’s largest carriers, Huawei is a very important customer for Bookham.” Couder said that Bookham’s customers “need reliable suppliers who can consistently deliver quality products with short lead times, and add real value with local sales support. We achieve this through the combination of our ownership of core technology and manufacturing facilities, our vertical integration strategy, and our dedicated and committed customer service.” He continued by noting that “[w]ith this combination, and the quality of our Shenzhen facility, we can meet the needs of major tier 1 systems vendors around the world.”
