In a Virginia town hall meeting, the President made a joke about his tax bill and said “ wow, maybe I should think about taxing the wealthy here”, according to CBS news. He, however, did say that in reality he didn’t believe his taxes should be lower. He is holding a series of town meetings to discuss his plans for the budget and immigration reform. He went further to say that the Republican budget presented allowed not for tax hikes on the very wealthy but tax cuts, which wouldn’t help lower the federal deficit.
The American people had to pay their taxes yesterday and for those who didn’t file may they face the need of a tax attorney to reduce their fines. The President and Vice President released their tax forms for the public to see yesterday.
Since yesterday was tax day, different protests were held by various groups. The Tea Party held a rally headed by Michelle Bachman to protest Obama’s proposed tax hikes on the wealthiest members of our society. Other groups protested the by speaking out against the huge corporations who paid no taxes like General Electric.
Some people protest taxes by simply not paying or filing. That’s a mistake that will send you fleeing to a tax lawyer. The IRS will eventually catch up and when they do heavy penalties will be attached to your tax bill which will make paying them off even more difficult. No matter what reason a person misses tax deadline, they may require a tax attorney to make the IRS happy.
