Ron Paul announces third run for President

By: Daun Lee

Ron Paul officially announced he will try for the Presidency for a third time during a press . The largely libertarian Congressman from Texas will be vying for the Republican Presidential nomination. Most experts believe Mitt Romney will get the Republican nomination.

Ron Paul led a grass-roots campaign and developed a following in his last bid for election. He may find supporters in The Tea Party movement, who have principles in common with Ron Paul.

Ron Paul, as a libertarian can be at odds with the Republican Party because of his foreign policy. He feels as though the US government should cease “policing” the rest of the world and focus on problems at home.

He is also a proponent of lower taxes and a limited federal government. His idea of a fair tax rate may be a big hit with people in the 2012 election as Obama attempts to raise taxes for the wealthy and corporations. For libertarians, a fair tax would mean that all citizens pay the same rate for taxes regardless of income. Paul believes the budget can be balanced with fair taxes and spending cuts.

Many people have trouble paying their income taxes, especially if they are self-employed, others would like to avoid paying their taxes altogether. The penalties attached to an unpaid tax bill can possibly be reduced by hiring a tax attorney. A tax lawyer can work for the delinquent taxpayer to halt the efforts of the IRS to collect.
