ECOtality Inc. (ECTY) and Jones Lang (JLL) Partner to Drive Electric Vehicle Project

QualityStocks would like to highlight ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ: ECTY). Headquartered in San Francisco, California, the company is a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies. Through innovation, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, ECOtality accelerates the market applicability of advanced electric technologies to replace carbon-based fuels.

In the company’s news yesterday,

ECOtality has struck a deal to partner with global real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle to select the locations for Blink electric vehicle (EV) chargers throughout EV Project regions.

The companies will collaborate to identify roughly 2,000 potential charger host locations, conduct any necessary due diligence, and negotiate contracts for the EV project.

“Through this partnership, ECOtality is able to leverage Jones Lang LaSalle’s extensive knowledge of commercial property management, real estate and commercial markets to ensure that we place stations where they will be well-used,” Jonathan Read, CEO of ECOtality stated in the press release. “This partnership ensures our Blink public and commercial chargers are available at a variety of retail and commercial locations throughout EV Project markets.”

The planning efforts mark the beginning stages of the EV Project and will be used as the starting point for locating these host sites. ECOtality said it will install charging stations in the upcoming months at various EV Project partner locations, which include retail locations, restaurants, hotels, movie theatres, grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, office buildings and employment centers.

Jones Lang LaSalle offers an array real estate services, which is expected to extend market reach for the EV Project.

“The synergy from ECOtality’s strong handle on the electric transportation market, and Jones Lang LaSalle’s firm grasp on commercial real estate as well as energy and sustainability, could really make a difference in the adoption and support of electric vehicles,” Peter Belisle, president of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Energy and Sustainability Services in the Americas stated. “We’re proud to be a part of an initiative that could make a difference to our environment as well as create opportunities for our clients.”

ECOtality will operate as the project manager of the EV Project, responsible for overseeing the installation of approximately 14,000 commercial and residential charging stations in 18 major cities and metropolitan areas in six states and the District of Columbia.
