In the Trade Alert, the author highlights AECOM’s increase in first-quarter profits due to strong growth across its transportation and construction projects:
“AECOM Technology Corp. (ACM) rose 1.24% to $27.69 Wednesday. AECOM Technology provides professional technical and management support services to government and commercial clients worldwide. AECOM recently announced its fiscal first-quarter profit grew 37% on strong demand for its services from transportation and other construction projects. For the first quarter ended December 31, net income rose to $40.9 million from $29.5 million a year ago, while revenue rose 35% to $1.45 billion.”
The Trade Alert author also featured HCP’s fourth-quarter growth on higher revenues, though the company missed analyst expectations:
“HCP Inc. (HCP) shares slipped 1.03% to $22.15 Wednesday morning. HCP operates as a real estate investment trust in the United States. The company recently reported that its fourth-quarter funds from operations (FFO) increased from last year, helped by higher revenues. FFO applicable to common shares were $121.5 million or 48 cents per share, compared to $117.2 million or 54 cents per share in the prior year quarter. However, the quarterly FFO per share failed to meet the analysts' expectations. On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn 55 cents per share for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimate typically excludes special items.”
