Even stars aren’t immune to the current foreclosure crisis. According to TMZ, the singer for the now defunct Wilson Phillips is facing foreclosure on her Los Angeles home.
The singer must come up with $1.6 million by July 21st or the bank will seize her home and sell it off in an auction. Wilson fell behind on her mortgage payments a few months ago and the back payments.
For some it is possible to avoid foreclosure by seeking the advice of a foreclosure attorney.
The singer was once a spokesperson for the Fresh Diet, which delivers fresh food for client who wishes to lose weight. They fired her because she continued to gain weight while on the diet plan. She was also seen continuously baking in her reality show, and Fresh Diet felt it wasn’t appropriated for a person on a diet plan to bake and sell cheesecakes. Besides her cameo in Bridesmaids, Carnie hasn’t been working much in Hollywood.
Unemployment is the primary reason people fall into foreclosure. The states facing the highest number of people out of work also have the highest rates of foreclosure. The unemployment rate has remained high for months on end, therefore more and more people will need to retain foreclosure lawyers.
There are federal programs to help these individuals, but for those who don’t qualify they can hire foreclosure attorney to help them modify their loans or contest a bank’s decision.
