“The ethanol industry is entering its next generation of technology with new processes, targeting economy and efficiency. Leading the biofuel revolution, AE Biofuels (OTCBB: AEBF), as a vertically integrated company, has established leading positions in each stage of the biofuels value chain: global and diversified access to feedstock, large scale volume of biofuels production, marketing and distribution, and advanced biofuels technology. … Paving the way for a solution that is both cost-effective and commercially viable to address the growing demand for non-food, advanced biofuels, AE Biofuels has recently announced a strategic agreement with Merrick & Co., a world-class organization with deep experience in both refining and biofuels. … According to a report, AE Biofuels' strategic agreement with Merrick & Co. will push commercial implementation of AE Biofuels’ patent-pending enzyme based technology, which converts non-food biomass into ethanol and other materials.

AE Biofuels’ Integrated Plant Approach increases efficiencies by converting bagasse into fuel:

AE Biofuels utilizes an Integrated Plant Approach that allows for the use of cellulose, corn and sugar feed stocks, increasing efficiencies. Also, its technology facilitates the upgrading of existing corn ethanol plants to use both corn and cellulosic feedstock and enables sugar cane ethanol plants to convert bagasse into fuel. This patent-pending cellulosic ethanol technology also lowers feedstock costs by using agricultural waste as opposed to potential food crops, and offers lower capital costs.
