Atwood Oceanics, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the offshore drilling and completion of exploratory and developmental oil and gas wells worldwide. … The Houston-based international drilling contractor recently announced it continues to pursue contract opportunities for the Atwood Southern Cross amid weakness in energy prices that has forced exploration and production companies to slash their capital spending. … However, the company said it does not expect to receive any contract for one of its rigs until June 30. It plans to keep the rig prepared to immediately commence working once a contract opportunity has been identified.”

“Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd. (GNK) shares slipped .95% this morning, trading at $12.46. Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd. engages in the ocean transportation of drybulk cargoes through the ownership and operation of drybulk carrier vessels worldwide. … Shares of Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd., along with other shippers, decline after Greek dry bulk carrier DryShips announced it got a going concern notice from its auditors. … According to Dryships, its inability to comply with certain financial and other covenants under its loan agreements raised substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern.”
