The company needs agreements with bondholders and the United Auto Workers union to sidestep this outcome, Kresa said. … Charged with seeking new board members, Kresa expects ‘significant leeway’ from the U.S. Government in replacing some directors, and will likely take place at the company's annual meeting in August. … More importantly, Kresa and GM are mandated to restructure the company by June 1, and will most likely be through needed concessions from bondholders and the union.”

“Toyota Motors Corp. (TM) shares gained 5.23% in today’s early trading, moving to $71.45. The world's largest automaker Toyota released its March auto sales statistics showing a fall of 36.6% to 132,802 vehicles from the same month last year, with its competitors reporting similar to worse results. … March sales rose 16.3% from February, as the weather in March is more favorable to consumers and is historically the recovering month from February's lows. Toyota Motor Sales USA reported it sold 118,563 units while its Lexus Division noted sales decreased to 14,239, or 40.6% from the same month last year.”
