In addition, it engages in electricity generation operations. Further, it sells petrochemical products in domestic and international markets. As of December 31, 2007, the company had approximately 623 million barrels of oil and 3,708 billion cubic feet of gas, representing aggregate reserves of 1,283 million barrels of oil equivalent. The company was founded in 1977 and is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. YPF Sociedad Anonima is a subsidiary of Repsol YPF, S.A.
