The Troy, Michigan-based car parts maker recently announced it reached a deal to sell most of its global operations to private equity firm Platinum Equity, a deal seen to allow the troubled company emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. … Delphi also said in its press release it agreed to sell certain U.S. plants to certain affiliates of General Motors Corp., its former parent. General Motors, which just filed for bankruptcy protection in New York on Monday, will reportedly acquire Delphi's global steering operations, and plants in Kokomo, Ind.; Wyoming, Mich.; Lockport, N.Y.; and Rochester, N.Y. … The company said a final approval hearing of the bankruptcy court is scheduled for July 23.”
