Wind River: Intel to acquire Wind River Systems for $11.50/share in cash (WIND) 8.00 : INTC Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Wind River Systems, under which Intel will acquire all outstanding Wind River common stock for $11.50 per share in cash, or approximately $884 million in the aggregate. Wind River will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel and continue with its current business model of supplying leading-edge products and services to its customers worldwide. The board of directors of Wind River has unanimously approved the transaction. It is expected to close this summer, subject to certain regulatory approvals and other conditions specified in the definitive agreement. Upon completion of the acquisition, Wind River will report into Intel's Software and Services Group, headed by Renee James.

Novavax and the NIH agree to evaluate a virus-like particle vaccine candidate against the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus (NVAX) : Co and the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, National Institutes of Health have signed an agreement to cooperate in the evaluation of a virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate against the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus. Novavax has produced influenza A (H1N1) VLP vaccine against the strain recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Data Domain comments on unsolicited offer from EMC; Board is reviewing EMC's offer (DDUP) 32.54 : Co comments on the unsolicited offer it has received from EMC Corp (EMC) to acquire all of the outstanding shares of DDUP common stock for $30.00 per share in cash. Data Domain's Board is reviewing EMC's offer. At this time, the Board is not making a recommendation with respect to the EMC offer. Data Domain requests that its stockholders defer making a determination whether to accept or reject EMC's offer until Data Domain has communicated to stockholders its position regarding the tender offer from EMC. In accordance with Rule 14d-9 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, on or before June 16, 2009, Data Domain will communicate to stockholders its position regarding the tender offer from EMC. At this time, the Board is reaffirming the recommendation in favor of Data Domain's merger with NetApp (NTAP).
