A U.S. advisory panel will discuss Amgen Inc's (AMGN.O) experimental osteoporosis drug denosumab at a meeting on Aug. 13, the Food and Drug Administration said on Monday. The panel will discuss the company's proposed uses of treating and preventing osteoporosis in post-menopausal women and treating and preventing bone loss in patients undergoing hormone ablation for prostate and breast cancer.

TV and publishing group News Corp (NWSA.O) sees fair competition in the Italian TV sector as favouring viewers, according to News's Chief Executive for Europe and Asia James Murdoch on Thursday. Murdoch, who is also chairman of News Corp's Italian satellite pay-TV unit Sky Italia, made his comments in the text of a speech at a gala dinner for Italian advertisers and entrepreneurs.
