Boots & Coots, Inc. provides a suite of integrated pressure control and related services to onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration and development companies primarily in North America, Asia, South America, North Africa, West Africa, and the Middle East. The company operates through three segments: Pressure Control, Well Intervention, and Equipment Services. The Pressure Control segment offers prevention and risk management programs, including training, contingency planning, well plan reviews, audits, inspection services, and engineering services to reduce the number and severity of critical well events. This segment also provides firefighting and snubbing and pressure control equipment rental services. The Well Intervention segment offers services, which reduce the number and severity of critical well events, such as oil and gas well fires, blowouts, or other losses of control at the well, and enhances production for oil and gas operators. This segment also offers underbalanced drilling, workover, well completions, and plugging and abandonment services with a fleet of hydraulic workover and snubbing units. As of December 31, 2008, the company operated a fleet of 37 hydraulic workover and snubbing units. The Equipment Services segment provides pressure control equipment rental and related services primarily in the Gulf Coast, and Central and East Texas regions. It offers equipment, such as high pressure flow iron, valves, manifolds, and chokes. The company was formerly known as Boots & Coots International Well Control, Inc. and changed its name to Boots & Coots, Inc. in June 2009. Boots & Coots, Inc. was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
